New Findings with Brugada Syndrome

  • Brugada Syndrome is an imbalance between the inward and outward currents during the phase 1 action potential.
  • Causes patient's electrocardiograph (ECG) to display 3 types of ST segment elevation in the right precordial leads.
  • Typically manifests during adulthood with higher occurance in Asian countries, including Thailand and Japan, rather than in Western Counrties.
  • Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator has successfully treated patients.
